Granite sharpening surface

Post by d.wvanlingen » Fri Nov 08, 2019 7:35 am

Good day.

I saw in one video you use a similar setup as what I have made with a level granite surface but how do you attach the sandpaper on top I made aluminium clamps?

hello mate,
I use self-adhesive sandpaper, but you can also use normal sandpaper and double-sided tape. Here you can see how I use the two types of sandpaper.

What do you prefer about the self-adhesive sandpaper for this, Suso?

both systems are perfect if the sandpaper is of quality, but the self-adhesive sandpaper is faster and more comfortable! however it is also more expensive...

Is the self-adhesive tape strong enough though? I wouldn't have thought of using it for "heavy duty" projects, but it looks like it works from your videos!
