I am starting my build on a 3d router and plan to use linear bearings also.
I noticed you have a single shaft on each side, does that provide enough support for the carrage assembly ??
Anything different you would do if you were to build another one ??

yes, if you use linear bearings a single shaft on each side will be enough.
When I spoke with Lucasz, he told me that his 3D Router workes perfectly!

I noticed in Lukasz version he has a adjustment wheel mounted on the to of the Z axis.
What would that be for ??

Also, how do you loch down the z axis at a certain height ?
IE: like if I wanted to lower a router bit to a specific height and have it maintain that height??

I am thinking along the lines of inlay and marquetry.

I think that Lukasz has added that adjustment wheel in order to lower the router bit to a specific height. In the original design you cannot lock the Z axis, but you can do the same as Lukas, or use the adjustment wheel of the Y axis to lower the router bit to a specific height.

Je suis très intéressé par votre projet.
J'ai acheté les plans 3D Router, when a CNC machine is overkill.
C'est votre système de coulissage qui me parait le plus adapté.
Sur les plans du système acheté, la montée et la descente du bloc router est retenu par un ressort qui permet de maintenir le bloc.
D'après les images que j'ai imprimées de votre système, je ne vois pas comment vous manœuvrez la montée et la descente du bloc.
Auriez-vous des images ou un plan qui démontrent votre système que je puisse retranscrire et utiliser votre méthode de montée et descente du router.

J'attends avec impatience votre solution pour la transposer sur ma future machine.
