Hello. I'm half way through the build and wanted to start a thread. I'll post tons more pics after it's done. This saw is extended almost 150 mm to allow for cutting up to about 14". It also features a 2hp motor.

hello Nicknasty,
one question, have you also changed the diameter of the wheels or just the height of the band saw??

I just changed the height. So I ended up with 1225mm tall pieces. I only had to change the height on the 6 support pieces and the two main structure pieces.

It's in working order now. I still need to build the fence and drawers, then I'm going to tear it all down and sand and stain.

Bandsaw is complete. I have yet to put any finish on it. It cuts really well. Shakes a little so I might rebuild the wheels.

hello Nicholas, it's a great band saw!

If your wheels don't come out perfect you can turn them on both sides, just like I did with the disc sander of my homemade lathe. This will greatly reduce any potential vibrations in your band saw.

I will turn them again to try to smooth it out. I also put in a pocket hole on the face of the wheel near the shaft and drove a screw into the shaft as a key.

it's a good idea, I think it can solve the problem!
