I have completed my build of Suso's lathe plans. I am very pleased with my results and the different options I have with the multiple tools designed for this project. I will eventually be building a bandsaw to go with this setup and I am currently designing it. I asked many questions during this build and Suso answered me every time. His plans are very detailed and he is responsive and very helpful during the build. If you are interested in building your own lathe, I suggest these plans. Pleasure to build
Motor (3/4hp):
Tool Rest and Tailstock:
Locking Track (I used garolite for the slide to avoid wood shrinking and expanding during weather changes):
Disc Sander:
Grinder Wheel:
Drum:
Drum and Belt Sander:
Drum Sander Lift(I CNC cut a handle that has 10 evenly spaced lobes. Each increment raises the table 0.010"):
Belt Sander:
Completed Stand (I used workbench casters to move the stand where I need it and I disengage them to drop back to the floor while using it for extra weight and stability):
Inside Cabinet:
Drawer:

Re: Cole's Lathe and Stand
hello Cole,
it's a pleasure to see your work, you have made a very beautiful and functional lathe.
I'm glad you like the design and the plans! I also have in mind to make a similar stand...
I'm looking forward to see how you manage to attach the band saw to the lathe.

Thank you Suso. You were very helpful throughout the build. This is a perfect project for a hobby woodworker because it can do so many different things. Very well thought out design
