Circular Saw Blades - Table Saw Blades:

The two things you should take into account when buying a blade for your circular saw or table saw is the maximum diameter that your tool can be equipped with and the diameter of the shaft. CMT usually has three blades like the one in the picture below for each diameter.

1- One with few teeth to rip solid wood lengthwise; this blade does not make fine or clean cuts.

2- Another with lots of teeth to make crosscuts in solid wood. Also for all kinds of cuts in MDF, plywood boards or boards with melamine achieving very fine cuts.

3-Finally, there's another blade with a medium number of teeth which could make most types of cuts, without being as good at the aforementioned cuts.

Ideally you should have all three blades so that you switch between them for each kind of cut, but if you can't buy all three, the medium one is the best option. To figure out the number of teeth, look at the "Z" reference (Z24, Z40, Z60, Z80). Here's an article with more info:

Hi all,

has anyone tried or looked at the Makita N5900B

The 5903R is not available in this part of the world so I am trying to find the closest matching alternative so as to minimize any design changes I would need to make...

All comments welcome and appreciated..

hi Wayne,
you will not have a problem, it's very similar. Has the same Max Blade diameter, dimensions and weight.
The only thing you might have to modify is the recess on the lid, keep in mind that you should position the disk in the same place as in the plans.

saludos!

Hi,
your videos inspired me a lot so I wanna try build your table saw to my single bed structure.
I m worried about safety ( fingers are my life, I'm a professional violin player) and I watched a lot of videos about it, also your one: https://www.paoson.com/en/blog/table-sa ... y-tips-n37

I cannot find a Circle saw with the splitter (or rive knife). Anyone can help me to find out a good model under 150€?
Maybe in Italy or EU website.
I just found these chinese model but a lot of people is complaining about the quality...https://www.amazon.it/dp/B00HT94ZCO/ref ... B07FFWSVL4

many thanks

Rocco

Hi Suso, happy for your return to youtube, we were missing you. I am going to try to build your 3 in 1 table saw. My current circular saw is out of scope as it is an old cheap tool. I checked this Makita you used for the project and it is crazy expensive in comparison with the average price of a decent one. Could you suggest something half way between that jewel and my old mule? i think one of the most important features is the easy access and the simplicity in handling the height and angle adjustements of the blade. I trust you.... Gracias y hasta luego
