Question about circular saw (Bosch instead of Makita : how to attach)

Post by Yves_22 » Mon Dec 12, 2016 2:06 pm

Hi
on my portable workshop, instead of the Makita circular saw, i would prefer to use a Bosch GKS 85 G. In seems that, in the portable workshop project, the Makita saw is attached to the plywood top plate with three screws. Are these threaded holes existing in the Makita saw ? It seems that these kind of holes doesn't exist in the base plate of the Bosch saw so, in this case, i will have to create another fastening system based on steel counterflanges (of course, i will not drill the base plate of my new Bosch saw).

hi Yves,

In this case you will have to design another fastening system. Once the recess has been made, you could solve it with aluminum profiles.
Keep in mind that the circular saw must be tightly fastened and without looseness.
You could do something like this, but improving the system...
