Mr Paoson

The vice spec'd in the plans do not match the vice you used in the videos. I have 2 questions:

1) Can you specify what vice(s) match the parts Vice1-Vice3 in the plans?
2) Can you provide then cut list used for the the vice from the videos?

Thanks in advance
Tony

hi tanzelmo,

the vise that I used in the videos is quite expensive and difficult to find in Europe, that's why I used a more common one in the plans. It's this vise. There are several similar vises on the market, if you use another one, check the measurements.

This is the vise I used in the videos, it is the 14 inch version. The vise comes with the mounting specifications, it depends on the type of worktop you use and other things that I no longer remember!

Mr Paoson

I’m trying to determine the thickness of my bench top. I will be laminating ash “planks” into a top. I was originally planning on a 2” top (50mm). Yours is 38mm I believe.

However a web search seems to indicate that 3” is necessary (for bench dogs, holdfasts etc.). That seems excessively thick not to mention expensive.

Can you advise? What is an adequate thickness?

Thanks!
Tony
