Hi Suso, why don't you attach the vice directly to the worktop?

hi Grizoo,
it could be done that way, but I wanted to get a little more distance between the steel bars of the vise and the top of the workbench.

Hi suso,
you placed the vise on the right side and I asume that is the usual/best for right handed people.
For left handed folks it would then make more sense to place it on the left side and the "connector" to attach a second mobile workbench on the right side. Is that correct?

hi HerrLux,
I don't think there is a single answer to this question. It also depends on where you are going to place the bench, if you are going to place it against a wall or the space available on each side of the bench.
