Nailing or screwing

Post by Superbra » Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:18 pm

Hi Suso, and of course all other forum members. I'm a fanatic beginning woodworker and I like to make my own tools. I already made a workbench and am now working on a table saw/router combination. My own design, not yours (I'm sorry). I did buy the plans for the 3D router though and I am very eager to start working on it.

I have a question, not only for this project, but also for every other project I'll do in the future: when applying glue, I'm fixing the parts with screws. This takes a lot of time, as I have to pre-drill, countersink, apply glue and screw. I'm very tempted to buy a compressor and a tacker and fix the parts with brads. I'd like to have your opinion: will the connections be firm and stable or should I keep using screws?

that is another correct way to fix the parts.
Also, maybe it would be a good idea if you put clamps about 10 minutes to strengthen the joint. Let me see some photo when you do it!
