I'm about to by the Makita 5104 in advance of designing and building a custom table. I am wondering how do you set the Saw to work with the switch. Isn't there a safety button on the Saw? Maybe it's just as simple as securing the safety button down, but I thought someone might have a more elegant solution.

everyone uses a plastic bridle, sometimes the simplest solution is the best! even if it is not very elegant...
you could also open your circular to bypass the switch, but this is not useful if one day you want to use it as a portable tool.

Another quick question, where can I get the dust extraction port for the Makita 5104? The plastic one I see in the video?

I guess you have to buy this accessory apart, in my model was included...

How do you recommend connecting it to the table plate?
I see only two holes that can recieve screws (see marking in attached picture), is that enough?

I can't see the image, anyway I recommend you make two more holes to the base of the circular saw. Then you can thread them or use a bolt with a locking nut.
