Plywood sizes in USA

I'm gathering building materials for the table saw project and am having an issue finding the correct thickness of plywood. In the US we have 1", 3/4", 5/8", 1/2" and 1/4" thicknesses. Which thicknesses should I choose when matching up with the 20mm, 18mm, 10mm and 9mm on the plans? And how will this change the cut dimensions?

hi Cody,
it is an usual problem due to the diferent thicknesses of the plywood sheets, sorry about that. I would use the 3/4 plywood board for all parts except for the 9mm pieces..
For the 9mm pieces you can use the 1/2 board, if you don't find anything more similar...
On the lid you will have to vary few measures, you will have to vary the height of the piece number 22(fence) due to the change of thickness.
On the cabinet you will not notice many changes... the parts with more problems are the small ones, such as the router holder. You'll have to check everything before cutting.

Thank you, this helps a lot. And just in time, as I picked up the plywood today. Excited to get started on this project!

How did this go for Cody?

Does anyone have a list of cuts affected by the conversion to 3/4" and 1/2" plywood?

I would like to know if there is a cut list for using 3/4" and 1/2" plywood.
I am also curiuos as to why we shouldn't use 23/32" and 11/32" these are a little closer to 18mm and 9mm.
Please respond. I would like to start my project and still have concern about the difference in thickness.

hello Charles,
all my plans are in metric, sorry about that. You can change them to imperial on SketchUp under the command "window/model information," although it's not completely effective at converting. Keep in mind that the Pdf sheets will not change the units.

23/32 board - 18,25mm
11/32 board - 8,73mm
I didn't know about the existence of these plywood boards, they are almost the same! if you use these boards I think you will not have to modify anything, that difference is not appreciable in woodworking.

Let me know if you have more questions,
Suso

Thanks. Instead of converting I think I will go with the plywood thickness I provided. It is available where I am.

The other question I have is about the various styles and types of power tools that can be used. I am just starting out so I am not able to spend the money for the same tools you mounted. Have you been given feedback from other people that built this table and mounted other tools with details on how they did it? I would love to see a list of other tools people have mounted and how they did it.

Thanks again for responding.

here you can find users who have used all kinds of power tools:
Portable Workshop:
Router & Saw Table:

you can use any power tool, you will simply have to modify the recesses a bit to adapt them to the design. The biggest problem will be the router, you should check that it fits in the hole and that it can be tilted.

Those links are exactly what I was looking for. They give me plenty of examples.
I have another question about the plans you have....
Have you come up with a design to make a hand drill a drill press?
I have seen them on the internet but I kinda like the way you design things. :)
